INDIANAPOLIS — After a dry stretch this week, rain chances return this weekend. The GMR Grand Prix at IMS is on Saturday with a green flag at 3:45 p.m. If you are going to the race, take the rain gear, but you won't need it all day.  

Scattered storms start to develop around midday Saturday, with the most coverage of rain and storms expected during the afternoon and evening hours. 

Kids Day and the Rookie Run are on Sunday on Monument Circle. It will be mainly dry and warm with temperatures near 80.

Most of Sunday will be dry, with a few storms possible late in the day into Sunday night. 

Stay weather aware this weekend, because we are under the risk for a few severe storms. Remember, even if storms aren't severe they may contain lightning, so if you hear thunder it is time to move your outdoor activities inside.
